IT experts are to give business leaders the lowdown on the growing risks of computer crime. The Yorkshire & Humber Fraud Forum will hold its fifth annual conference on Wednesday, November 10 with cutting edge talks from a range of specialist cyber crime prevention organisations. The all-day conference on the theme of 'Cyber crime – are you protected?' will take place at the Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield.
The event will focus on cyber security, both threats and prevention, together with an update on data protection.
The future of cyber crime will also be debated with speakers from a range of organisations including West Yorkshire Police, Business Crime Reduction Centre, UK Office of Cyber Security, National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, Police Central E-crime Unit, and the UK's Fraud Prevention service. Chris Clements, forensic partner at the Leeds office of Grant Thornton, is organising the conference. He said: "In the current climate businesses are facing more instances of fraud than ever.
Battle
"Speakers at this conference are right at the heart of the ever-changing battle against cyber crime.
"We want to raise awareness of the most up-to-date threats that it poses to companies and individuals across the region, and give them the chance to meet key figures within the fraud advisory arena."
