Violent Crimes in Jennings

Posted in : Violents

(added few years ago!)

After four unsolved violent crimes in the last two weeks, Jennings Police are feeling frustrated and worried. The most recent crime occurred late Monday night in the 400 block of King Street. Police responded to a report of gunshots. No one was injured. Last week, one man had been shot in the hand.  Another man showed up at the hospital with a stab wound to his neck. A fourth case involves a man who sustained a gunshot wound to his leg on Shirley drive. Authorities think other people, besides the victims, have more information, but are afraid to be labeled as snitches. "It's getting worse where victims of crimes want to not cooperate with law enforcement out of fear or retribution or just the possibility that they want to take matters into their own hands" says Detective Danny Semmes.
