A QUARTER of children aged 10 to 15 have been a victim of crime in the past year, the Home Office has revealed. The figures were revealed as part of an extension of the British Crime Survey to include young people. Researchers said if all the crimes against under-16s were added to annual figures, the total level of crime in England and Wales would rise by 22%. Keith Towler, the Children’s Commissioner for Wales, said a balanced view of young people’s experiences was crucial.
